Babybio Farms

Welcome to our Babybio farms: a project with a human heart about looking after nature and bringing out flavour.

At Babybio, we've always believed in carefully selecting our ingredients and building up lasting relationships with partner producers. Now, we're going even further with organic French subsidiaries at two small farms in the Loire.

We're proud to offer original ingredients grown by us on our own farms, so that we can pass on the real taste of good things to future generations.

Farms Babybio Een menselijk project, met respect voor de natuur en in dienst van de smaak: welkom op onze Babybio-boerderijen.
La ferme Miré

Miré Farm

Our 94-acre farm in the little village of Miré is located in a region with a rich agricultural past.

This unique area is home to streams and rivers that have caused rock erosion over the years and created loam soil suitable for growing fruit and vegetables.

The Miré farm is an adventure in how to work with nature! This is why we've chosen agroforestry farming. With this method, trees and crops share the same plot. This has significant benefits when it comes to protecting the soil and local biodiversity.

The Miré farm is also about exploring what's possible! These unique agricultural resources allow us to test and grow ancient crop varieties and add unusual ingredients to our infant food products.

Paul
Paul Explorer in chief at the Miré Farm

"As a market gardener, you don't often have the chance to work on an agroforestry farm producing baby food. It's a real challenge with lots of new discoveries. I can also be truly creative and feel supported by the team."

Crosmières Farm

Crosmières Farm

In the little village of Crosmières, a few kilometres from Miré, our second farm is located on incredible land with sandier, richer and deeper soil than that found in Miré.

Just like Miré, the Crosmières farm is 94 acres and the plots are organically farmed in a way that protects nature.

Historically, conservation agriculture was used at Crosmières, and we've decided to continue using "regenerative" agricultural practices. This involves limiting work on the land as much as possible and encouraging natural soil cover to help maintain the soil, recycle mineral elements and develop biodiversity.

Nicolas

With over 25 years' market-gardening experience, passionate organic-farming specialist Nicolas is interested in exploring what's possible. He has developed multiple talents and expertise to manage our little Crosmières farm and enthusiastically embark on the Babybio adventure.

Vegetables from our farms

For us, becoming a producer is an opportunity to test out all kinds of crops including ancient varieties and give forgotten ingredients a modern update.

These include green pumpkins, Sucrine du Berry squashes, wrinkled butternut squashes, Cinderella pumpkins, etc. Your little adventurers will love these unusual ingredients with uncommon tastes in the coming years!
