During the first 36 months of your baby's life, their nutritional needs evolve, and breast milk or baby formula will be the main food in their diet to meet these needs. The WHO recommends breastfeeding your baby until they're at least 6 months old as breast milk is the ideal food for them.

For those who can't or don't want to breastfeed, infant formula is the recommended alternative. But what actually is infant formula? It's a milk-based product with added ingredients like vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids to make it as similar to breast milk as possible and meet all your baby's needs.

• Optima infant formula also contains French cow's milk but also includes organic fibre (FOS and GOS) and lactic ferments.
